About Us
A few blocks from our shop sits Stillhouse Cove, the landing point for a banged up British Naval officer by the name of Lieutenant William Dudingston.
In 1772, Dudingston made the near fatal mistake of picking on the wrong group of Colonialists.
Fed up with the Crown for assessing taxes on maritime trade, the colonials attacked and burned Dudingston's boat, the HMS Gaspee. Dudingston was shot in the fracas and brought to shore at Stillhouse Cove.
This event is considered by many historians to be one of the first major acts of armed rebellion against British authority in the American colonies, preceding the Boston Tea Party and marking a significant step towards the American Revolution.
At Stillhouse Finish Carpentry and Woodworking, we like to think that we have that same Colonial spirit and the guts to tackle your project. If you are interested in using millwork to enhance your space, or have a custom piece of woodworking in mind, we are here to help.
Please take a look at a few selected projects we have completed and we look forward to hearing from you!
